Request a Traffic Crash Report

Do you need a traffic crash report from the Orlando Police Department?

You can request a copy of your crash report online to submit to your insurance company.

Step 1.Check your eligibility

  • You must be the driver, or named on the report as a person involved in the crash.
  • The crash must have happened since 2011.
  • The crash must have happened in the City of Orlando.

For crash reports before 2011, use our online service to request a public record from the Orlando Police Department (OPD):

For crash reports before 2002, contact the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles

Step 2.Important:

It takes 3-5 business days after a crash for the report to be available online. 

Step 3.Gather your information

You will need:

  • Case number
  • Date of crash
  • Driver’s name
  • Credit or debit card for a $10 payment

Step 4.Request your crash report

Use the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles online service to request your crash report. The fee for each crash report is $10.00. A driver’s exchange report for a minor accident is free.

Step 5.Receive your report

You will receive your report from Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Reports become available online immediately and must be downloaded within 48 hours. FLHSMV will email you a link to download the report.
